No Silver or Gold

 Day 5 of 27


This Thailand mission trip is all God's initiation and timing. It means he provided for my trip, arranged the events that will take place and the people I will meet, ordered my day to day steps and will take care of all the fruits after. 

My classes are 4 hours each day from Mondays to Thursdays but it requires all of my heart, mind and soul. We want our learners to learn English but most importantly encounter Jesus through the Bible stories we share. 

This is a volunteer teacher missionary work. I am here to help the center that my missionary friend is taking care of gain more students by delivering excellent instruction. But then again, the main thing is sharing Jesus to Thai unbelievers and other nationalities who might want to join. 

I have 12 Thai students and 2 Vietnamese refugees. They are all very respectful and very eager to learn. What's a Teacher Jane not to love! 

I am having a blissful and peaceful time here in Bangkok. 

(see photo) Yes, silver and gold have I none, but I have Jesus and he is EVERYTHING! 

Prayer Points:

Pray for Santisuk Phahonyothin Team. Pray for peace, wisdom and unity in Christ. 

Pray for all my 14 learners. Pray that they will continue to be excited to come to school and learn and eventually decide to join our cell groups.

Day 1 of 27 Dearest friends, I safely arrived in Bangkok at 10ish pm last night. Amid storm threats and lightning emergencies in Manila, God has brought me here on time.  I am overjoyed to see my missionary-teacher friend and sister in Christ. I am super blessed to be able to serve with her for the next 27 days.  Thank you for joining us as we see God's work continue here in Thailand.  I pray God's blessings of peace, joy and  wisdom for all of you this month of September.  Today, I will have my teacher-volunteer orientation before I meet my Thai students. I am thrilled! But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea, doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Jesus Christ my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ. Utterly Grateful

Day 14 of 27 I am utterly grateful and I can keep thanking all my Mission-T blessers everyday!  I work and teach in the Philippines (a looot). In fact, I have worked as a teacher and as an adventurer for the last 19 years but you see I can only afford a trip for a day or 2 around the Philippines. So to come to Thailand for almost a month and volunteer to teach in an English Center as a missionary-teacher-volunteer is totally beyond my comprehension.  So here's the best part, I am completely convinced that I serve a God who majors the impossible.  He perfectly made this mission possible through your gifts and prayers.  Yes, you! ❤️🙏🎁 So, here I am, ready to respond to his sweet and gentle whispers to go wherever he wants me to!  Praying you all embrace the freedom to serve the God who created you all for his glory!  Amen.  ❤️Teacher Jane

Friday Favors

 Day 7 of 27 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me. Matthew 16:24 It's a free Friday. No classes at the English Center. Today, I went with my missionary friend, Rhesa to the main Santisuk center. There, we met another CGST classmate, Awe. Awe is Thai and is also a director of one of the Santisuk centers. It was a happy reunion! (see 1st pic)  In the afternoon, we had time to relax and stroll through the busy streets of Bangkok. We walked a total of 12, 000 ish steps. We visited Siam Paragon, a famous high-end mall in Thailand.  This was a good way to celebrate a successful first week at the English center where I am assigned.  Again, coming to Thailand is not the most convenient and comfortable decision I have made this year but I think this is the best leap of faith, so far!
